Evelyn Dick was born Evelyn MacLean on October 13th, 1920. She was the only daughter of Scottish immigrants Donald and Alexandra MacLean, who had a tumultuous relationship. Alexandra and fixated on her social image, and wanted her daughter to be in with the social elite. This may have influenced her to go over-the-top with her attempts to make connections. Evelyn became a promiscuous woman with what seems like a complete disregard for the feelings of the men she encountered. Her desire for money and social status ultimately led her to murder.
